The autumn see-saw is in full swing across Australia's southeast this week. The second cold front in three days will sweep over South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania on Wednesday. Warm northerly winds ahead of the front will strengthen during the morning before a cool and blustery southwesterly change. This change is due to reach Adelaide in the early afternoon then Hobart and Melbourne in the evening. Temperatures are likely to drop by 5-10 degrees in the space of 24 hours from this change. For example, Melbourne is forecast to reach 27 degrees tomorrow and just 17 on Thursday, while Hobart could go from 23 to 17 degrees. Showers will accompany the front, although thunderstorms will be limited and severe storms are unlikely. Tomorrow's change comes after another front brought damaging winds and severe thunderstorms to the region on Monday. This is the time of year when cold fronts typically increase in frequency and strength as we approach winter.
