Melbourne to have warmest weekend since March

Melbourne to have warmest weekend since March
Melburnians are set to enjoy their warmest weekend since early March as the mercury averages in the mid-to-high 20s. A broad low pressure trough extending over southeastern Australia drawing in very warm air sourced from the interior, and is allowing it to pool over the region. The mercury will rise to a comfortable 26 degrees on Saturday, before warming even further on Sunday coming close to 30 degrees. While there will be a little bit of cloud around on both days, it should not spoil the fun for those which want to head to the beach. The only blight will be windy conditions on the Sunday ahead of and with a cold front. Northerly winds ahead of the front could gust as strong as 60-80km/h, before the change moves through during the late afternoon with similarly strong winds, bringing rapid cooling. Behind this front on Monday it will be cooler, before rapid warming on Tuesday and Wednesday as northerly winds redevelop, pushing temperatures into the high 20s and low 30s.
