Hot spell in Perth

Perth is on track to register its first four-day spell of November days at or above 35 degrees in 86 years.

A low pressure trough lingering near Australia's west coast is drawing hot inland air towards Perth this week.

After reaching 35.7 degrees on Wednesday and 37.7 degrees on Thursday, the city is forecast to hit 39 degrees on Friday and 35 on Saturday.

If these temperatures are reached, it will be the first time Perth has had four consecutive days at or above 35 degrees during November since 1933. It would also be only the second time on record Perth has had four days this during November.

Perth's hottest November day on record was 40.3 degrees, which occurred in 2003 and 1913.
