Goulburn Murray warned of minor flood threat

Thursday July 29, 2010 - 13:00 EST

The weather bureau says there is the chance of minor flooding in north-east Victoria after rain this week.

A series of cold fronts will pass through the Goulburn Murray region over the next few days.

Forecaster Stuart Coombs says there will be about five millimetres of rain each day and possibly 20mm a day in elevated areas.

"That may well mean that some of the rivers head towards minor flood stage, so we'll be keeping a bit of an eye on those, depending on where the heavier falls do occur and which catchments become affected," he said.
