Cold morning in New South Wales

Parts of central NSW dropped below freezing for the first time this year as Broken Hill had its coldest June night in 14 years.

In the west, Narrabri, Broken Hill, Hume and Bourke all dropped below freezing for the first time this year, more than six degrees below average.

In the south, Moruya was 11.5 degrees colder than the night before, dropping to one degree.

In the Snowy Mountains, Perisher had its coldest night of the year falling to minus nine degrees, bringing a great night for snow making. Although this is almost redundant after the heavy snowfalls through the Alps over the last few days.

Western Sydney had a cold night dropping to two degrees in a few suburbs such as Richmond and Liverpool.

The next few nights should be cold for most of NSW, leading to a continued frost risk for many inland areas.
