Cold morning for Sydney

Cold morning for Sydney

Sydneysiders woke to a chilly morning today with temperatures dropping to 6.4 degrees at Observatory Hill just before 06:30 this morning.

Whilst this makes it the coldest morning so far this month, with the previous coldest morning coming in at just over 7 degrees, it isn’t the coldest morning so far this winter for the city.

Last month temperatures dipped to 6.1 degrees, bumping this morning's cold start into second place for coldest mornings this year. This morning also makes it only the third time this year the mercury has dropped below 7 degrees, compared to the seven times recorded this time last year.

For those not a fan of the cold mornings, more favourable winds mean that they will begin to warm a little in coming days, climbing back to double figures towards the middle of next week.
