Cold burst this weekend

Cold burst this weekend
The first cold front in over two weeks is set to cross the southeast on Thursday and Friday, bringing a burst of much colder air, according to weatherzone.com.au. Daytime temperatures over VIC, NSW and southeast SA will drop at least 4 or 5 degrees between Thursday and Friday as muggy northerlies and patchy rain areas give way to strong, cold westerlies near the front. Canberra is expecting just 11 degrees on Friday, which would make it the equal coldest day of this year. The snow drought in the Alps should also finally break. Snow and northwesterly gales are likely to develop by Thursday evening, though it is unlikely NSW resorts will see much more than 10 cm. Victorian resorts could see 25 cm as cold southwesterlies maintain frequent snow showers on Friday. As skies clear behind the front on the weekend, widespread frosts will return to the inland with a vengeance.
