A strong front will introduce a much colder and drier airmass across the Harbour City on Monday.

The mercury is forecast to peak below 20 degrees for only the second time so far this month, which is fairly unusual given that the long term average maximum temperature for May is 19.5 degrees.

While the actual temperature may read in the high-teens tomorrow, the strength of the wind and dryness of the air will make it feel substantially colder.

A severe weather warning for damaging winds is in place for the Sydney area, from the late-morning tomorrow, with wind gusts above 90km/h possible — mainly confined to exposed coastal and elevated parts.
