After a few balmy days, the cold is set to hit southeast QLD. Brisbane has been basking in almost summer-like conditions for the past three days, with the mercury hovering around 28-29 degrees each day, and with plenty of sunshine around. During August, the average daytime temperature in Brisbane is generally closer to 23 degrees. The last time Brisbane saw three consecutive August days reaching 28 degrees or higher was in 2009. Unfortunately, the warm and sunny days will end due to a cold front moving over the southeast. Sunday is only likely to reach the low-20's with cool and blustery south-westerlies increasing during afternoon. As the winds begin to ease, and the skies clear once again, mornings will become chilly. The mercury is forecast to drop to six degrees by Tuesday morning, and is likely to be significantly cooler away from the coast. It could take several days before the morning jog will become comfortable again, with clouds looking to build by the end of the working week ahead of rain arriving by next weekend.
