Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has launched a flood relief appeal, with the State Government contributing $2 million.

Ms Bligh says the fund will cover the local government areas of Balonne, Barcaldine, Blackall-Tambo, Maranoa, Murweh, Paroo and the Central Highlands.

Donations will be distributed by the Red Cross.

Personal hardship grants of $180 per person, and up to $900 for a family, are also available.
