Balmy weather continues in VIC
The warm weather has continued through Victoria yesterday with all parts of the state seeing maximum temperatures up to 10 degrees above the average for this time of year. The shortened ski season is showing no signs of letting up with Mount Hotham's maximum of 14 degrees being 11 degrees above the average, while Falls Creek, Mount Buller and Mount Baw Baw reaching nine degrees above the average maximum. Melbourne reached a balmy high of 25 degrees, as did Melbourne Airport and Coldstream, which is eight above the average September maximum. Throughout the Mallee, all places recorded maximums between six and ten degrees above the average, with Mildura recording a top of 29.4 degrees, nine above the average. For the Northern Country, maximums ranged between five and nine degrees above the average with Bendigo hitting 24 degrees, seven above normal. In the North Central, Castlemaine, Eildon, Kilmore Gap and Maryborough saw maximum temperatures reach eight degrees above the average for September. In the South West, Ararat and Mount William felt the heat with temperatures reaching 10 degrees above the September average. After a warm day, there was no let off during the night with minimum temperatures staying well above the average for this time of year. The South West district was most affected with minimums up to 9 degrees above the average. After another warm day today, a cooler change will come through overnight with daytime temperatures expected to remain much closer to normal throughout the week.
