Another burst of rain for flood ravaged Victoria

Rosebud Lambert
Victoria has been making the most of drier weather today as flooding continued, but more rain is forecast for the next few days. Another trough is developing in the west deepening as it marches steadily east. The northwest of Western Australia and South Australia will see patchy rain develop tonight before the trough moves into eastern Australia tomorrow. The central interior could see up to 20mm of rain, before the rain spreads into Victoria, New South Wales and southern Queensland. Rain will develop over the northeast of Victoria on Thursday, followed by another burst of rain on Friday. Western and central Victoria could receive 15mm in total. The northeast will see the most rain in the state with a two day total of 30mm possible over Thursday and Friday. In NSW, rain will mostly stay west of the ranges, with up to 10mm across the central interior. Northern parts of NSW and southern QLD are likely to see higher totals of up to 20 to 30mm. The trough will move out to sea by the end of Friday taking the rain with it. A high will dominate behind the trough bringing a drier weekend over the east. A cold front on Monday may see some showers and wind develop in the southeast.
