Adelaide's coldest April day in 26 years

Adelaide's coldest April day in 26 years
Bitterly cold winds, cloud and showers led to this being the coldest April day in 26 years for Adelaide and the coldest on record for several inland towns, according to weatherzone.com.au. Adelaide only reached 14.6 degrees this afternoon, seven below the April average. Further inland it was a few degrees colder, as much as 13 below average. North of Adelaide on the Mt Lofty Ranges both Eudunda and Clare got to just 11 degrees. Port Pirie broke an 86 year old April record by staying below 15 degrees all day. It was a similar story across the eastern border where Mildura only got to 12 degrees, breaking a 62 year April record. Other locations to break long-term records were Tatura, Rutherglen and Tocumwal, peaking at 11 degrees. The wind chill factor made it feel anywhere between five and eight degrees all day. This cold burst will mean the next few nights will be frosty in places.
