Cancellation Severe Thunderstorm Warning - Southeast Queensland
For people in Cherbourg, Ipswich, Gympie, Logan, Somerset, Scenic Rim, Southern Downs, Western Downs, South Burnett, Toowoomba, Lockyer Valley, Gold Coast, Redland City, Sunshine Coast, Noosa, Brisbane City and Moreton Bay Council Areas.

Issued at 12:43 am Tuesday, 6 March 2018.

Severe thunderstorms are no longer affecting the Southeast Queensland area. The immediate threat of severe thunderstorms has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. Some moderate and locally intense rainfall is likely to continue in the coming hours, however.

81mm was recorded in the 1 hour to 9.15pm at Loder Creek (west of Southport)

79mm was recorded in the 1 hour to 10.10pm at Bonogin (on the Gold Coast HInterland)

54mm was recorded in the 30 minutes to 11.30pm at Wolffdene (between Beenleigh and Jimboomba)

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Beware of fallen trees and powerlines.
* Never drive, walk or ride through flood waters. If it's flooded, forget it.
* For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 219. The Bureau and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
