Coastal Waters Wind Warning
For southeast Gulf of Carpentaria waters.

Synoptic Situation
A high pressure system [1031 hPa] over the Great Australian Bight extends a firm
ridge across Gulf of Carpentaria waters. The high will move slowly east towards
the Tasman Sea over the weekend, gradually relaxing the ridge through the Gulf.
Strong Wind Warning
for Southeast Gulf Waters
Expect south to southeasterly winds 25 to 30 knots at times. Seas to 2.5 metres.
Winds are expected to decrease below 26 knots during Saturday afternoon.
The next warning will be issued by 5 am EST Saturday.
Please be aware
Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here,
and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
