For the Southwest Gulf of Carpentaria

A weakening ridge of high pressure across southern Australia is maintaining
fresh southeast winds over coastal waters.
Winds over the southwest Gulf of Carpentaria are no longer expected to exceed 25
No further warnings will be issued.
Please be aware
Wind gusts can be a further 40 percent stronger than the averages given here,
and maximum waves may be up to twice the height.
The community of Borroloola has been physically split in half after heavy rainfall and flooding caused by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred partly collapsed a bridge.
Tropical Cyclone Alfred has weakened to a tropical low as it nears landfall on the Gulf of Carpentaria's southern coast, but the Bureau of Meteorology warned the weather system remained powerful.
Perth, and much of Western Australia's southwest are about to experience their final scorcher of the summer.
