Light winds becoming W/NW 20 to 30 km/h during the morning then becoming light during the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 14 and 20 with daytime temperatures reaching 36 to 41.

NSW bushfires surround Sydney but conditions ease for now

Conditions have eased since the New South Wales bushfire crisis arrived in Sydney on Friday, but authorities warned that residents were "not out of the woods yet".

Coldest maximum summer temperature on record at Thredbo

While large parts of the country have been baking or battling bushfire, Thredbo in New South Wales recorded Australia's lowest maximum summer temperature on record.
