Motorists are being urged to drive carefully after overnight snowfall has made driving conditions treacherous throughout Tasmania. Snow has now been cleared from the Murchison Highway between Rosebery and the Cradle Mountain turnoff, but police are advising motorists to take extreme caution. The Lyell Highway between Mt Arrowsmith and Derwent Bridge, the Highland Lakes Road and the Marlborough Road are open to four-wheel drives only. Senior forecaster Glenn Perrin says snow has fallen to the 300 metre level in some areas and there is more to come. "There's a very cold airmass over the state at the moment." Snow is also being cleared from Cradle Mountain roads.
