The hemispheric long wave pattern has remained stable in recent weeks. There are five main troughs. Currently the most significant troughs are near the longitudes of South Africa, the Indian Ocean, eastern Australia, the south Pacific, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Summary:
Over southern and eastern Australia the cold front events with potential to bring widespread rain are now expected about 30 October to 3 November, 8 November to 12 November, and 19 November to 23 November. Rain events originating in the tropics and moving south are possible about 21 October to 25 October, 28 October to 1 November, and 9 November to 13 November.
Over Western Australia the strongest cold fronts should occur about 27 October to 31 October, 9 November to 13 November, and 17 November to 21 November.
