Alpine forecast

The Alps are experiencing a very cold day today under an upper cold airmass, bringing healthy snow falls.

From Wednesday 3rd, these unstable conditions will ease as a high pressure system slowly takes over. Light snow will still fall over NSW resorts until Friday 5th, less likely in Victoria. This will be good timing for the weekend which is looking clear. It will stay cold enough for snow making until at least Monday 8th. It will then warm up ahead of the next rain/snow system.

After this run of sunny days, a few cold fronts will impact from about Tuesday 9th, bringing a fair bit of rain but then cold air and decent snow. Snow is a chance most days from Thursday 11th to early the following week.
