Snow Resort Cams - Weather now

Alpine forecast

The next few nights will be icy cold and fairly calm, great for snow-making. However, the next few days will warm a few degrees above freezing, making the snow cover a bit soft each afternoon. Fresh snow will next arrive this Thursday night or the following day as moisture feeds into a low pressure trough ahead of a weakening front. There will be a bit of rain initially (not enough to muck up the existing snow cover) then a bit of snow. A better snow-bearing system will move through this weekend, bringing widespread 20-to-40cm with the Victorian resorts generally doing the best. There is a chance of another snow-bearing system in the few days to follow but it is unlikely to be a stronger cold front than the one on the weekend. Combined, this should take the snow depth to 25-to-50cm in the higher resorts, most likely Mt Hotham. Further ahead, it is looking drier and a bit warmer as a high pressure system becomes more dominant. Most nights should be cold enough for snow-making.
