Snow Resort Cams - Weather Now

Alpine 14 Day Weather Commentary

We are having a windy and relatively warm few days as it warms above freezing during the afternoons. Luckily for the higher resorts it is cooling below freezing at night - this is good for snowmaking although not ideal given it is still quite windy.

During Thursday light rain will fall but not for long, turning quickly to snow before it gets too slushy, a result of a strong cold front. By late evening snow will fall as low as about 800 metres as far west as Mt Buller and 1000 metres at Hotham/Falls Creek and blizzards may set in. During Friday strong winds and snow showers will ease and blizzards will cease. Light snow should fall as low as about 600 metres in Victoria. By Saturday morning snow will become confined to Victorian resorts and fall mostly at Mt Baw Baw. The weekend is looking quite sunny at Thredbo/Perisher but cloudier further west - overall, pleasant in the light winds.

The next best chance of snow will be from Thursday 7th August/Friday 8th August when the next front is due.
