Alpine forecast

After some of the best early-season snowfalls in almost two decades for many resorts, natural snowfalls are looking much leaner this week.

High pressure is moving over the alpine region, drying up the skies after a great run of snow. Temperatures are going to remain cold, especially over the coming nights, enabling most resorts to fire up the snow machines to boost the natural snow depth with some man-made flakes. These conditions are also conducive to black ice formation on the roads so be careful driving to the resorts.

The next cold front due around Saturday 23rd looks to deliver some more snow, with falls lasting until early next week.
