Snow Resort Cams - Weather Now

Alpine 14 Day Weather Commentary

It has been a little warm lately which has lead to some softening of the base over the last few days. The extremely gusty winds over the mountains signals the arrival of the next cold front and it is shaping up to be a good one!

Winds will remain strong throughout today, which has lead to the closure of some of the lifts. The northwesterlies will be blowing even harder tomorrow, creating very poor visibility conditions. The front isn't carrying too much in the way of moisture, but it is carrying a very large pool of cold air behind it. Over the the next four days, flurries should be in the order of 20-40cm, with Thursday and Friday likely to bring the heaviest falls.

This pool of cold air will stick around for a few days, bringing the temperatures back down to the negative numbers from Friday. This weekend looks superb with the morning snow predominately over the Victorian resorts and the winds significantly lighter.

The next chance for snow will be around Thursday 7th and Friday
