New Zealand Satellite Notes
A band of cloud crossing central New Zealand with a trough and cold front is causing patchy rain about Nelson and Palmerston, little elsewhere. Low cloud over the west coast of the lower South Island in onshore winds is bringing showers.
Widespread rainfall is expected to impact NSW from Saturday as two systems interact with one another from the north and west.
The weather bureau is warning Tasmanians of a wet and windy week ahead, after gusts associated with a cold front caused widespread power outages overnight.
