Western Australia South Infrared (b/w) Satellite/Lightning
Western Australia Satellite Notes
Thick cloud along eastern parts of WA with a broad region of low pressure is producing thunderstorms, heaviest in the north. Cloud is increasing over the southwest ahead of a cold front, causing showers to develop later.
Following a run of cooler than average temperatures during the first half of next week, southwestern parts of Western Australia will see a return of hot conditions.
Thunderstorms have brought hail and lightning to Queensland's south as the state continues to swelter under a heatwave.
A burst of hazy heat enveloped Sydney on Friday, with temperatures just not letting up well into the evening.
