Western Australia North Visible Satellite/Lightning
Western Australia Satellite Notes
A band of cloud over central WA with a trough is triggering thunderstorms and patchy rain. Low cloud over the southwest corner in the wake of a front is causing a few showers. Cloud in the far north near a region of low pressure is bringing a few storms, mainly offshore.
On the weekend wild winds battered South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria, toppling trees and bringing down powerlines and there is more of that on the way.
Vast areas of Queensland have experienced the hottest May night since records began, some of which stretch back to the 1800s.
For the majority of Australia April was warmer and drier than average.
