Thick cloud in the northwest near Tropical Cyclone Frances is generating heavy rain and the odd storm, mainly offshore. Low cloud over coastal southeast in onshore winds is bringing a few light showers. High cloud in the west in a decaying trough is remaining generally dry.
As the mercury plummets across South Australia ahead of winter, coastal properties are preparing for the inevitable storm surges.
Perth has not recorded any rainfall so far this month.
