Weatherzone Pollen Tracker FAQs

  1. Why is there advertising on the pollen tracker?

    Advertising helps to support the costs of producing and maintaining the pollen tracker. We use the revenue from advertisers to further enhance the Pollen Tracker functionality and features. If you would like to advertise on the pollen tracker please email: adsales@weatherzone.com.au

    Pollen Tracker is not part of Weatherzone Pro Subscriptions and is free for all to use. There is not a paid version with no advertising.
  2. What operating system does Pollen Tracker run on?

    Pollen Tracker will run on computers with the following operating systems:
    PC
    Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista
    Mac Coming soon
    Mac OSX 10.3 or greater

    We recommend that you have the latest version of Flash Player, service packs and updates available.
  3. What if I see the 'no connection' message?

    If you see this message, make sure:
    • Your internet connection is working,
    • If you have any firewall or internet security software running, try disabling it.
      If this resolves the problem, you will need to make an exception for "weather.exe".
    • If this doesn't resolve the issue, please restart of your computer.

  4. What type of Internet connection do I need to run Pollen Tracker?

    Whilst the Pollen Tracker will run on a dial-up connection, a 24/7 connection (usually broadband) is considered the best way to receive real-time weather conditions throughout the day.
  5. Will Pollen Tracker affect the day-to-day running of my computer?

    No, it won't affect the day-to-day operation of your computer. Pollen Tracker will run in conjunction with other programs and applications.
  6. From where does Pollen Tracker get its weather data? How often is this updated?

    Pollen Tracker uses advanced and up-to-date weather data provided by www.weatherzone.com.au. The update frequency of this data can be controlled from the preferences dialog. It can be set to 10, 30 or 60 minutes, in addition the updating can be paused (if the update is set to "pause" no data will be received by the pollen tracker).
  7. What if I see the 'no connection' signal?

    If you see this signal, make sure your Internet connection is working. If it is, you can try restarting your computer. If you have any firewall or internet security software running, try disabling it. If this resolves the problem, you will need to make an exception for "weather.exe".
