The owner of the Yallourn power station in the Latrobe Valley says it will have three of its four generator units working by next week.

Only one unit has been working since water from the Morwell River destroyed a massive embankment and flooded coal conveyors.

Water spilling into the mine is being pumped into the Latrobe River and there are plans to pipe water around the breach.

Trucks have replaced the conveyor systems to feed coal from the Yallourn mine to the power station.
