Paul Graham
Temperatures have been substantially above average across the northeast half of Western Australia while storms have been firing across the eastern Gascoyne and Goldfields, according to weatherzone.com.au. In the north, sunshine and easterly winds have helped lift temperatures in the Pilbara and Kimberley close to their monthly extremes. Bidyandanga reached 40 degrees again today, eight above average and within a degree of its highest for May. Temperatures have also been well above average through the Goldfields and Eucla where a trough has been triggering thundery showers. Eyre reached 31 degrees on Saturday, ten above normal while Leinster scored 7mm from a band of storms. Across the border in South Australia, temperatures nudged the 30 degree mark today. Ceduna reached 29 degrees, eight above normal.
