WA receiving a rainy hidin'
Sam Terry

It seems as though southwest WA is the place to be this April if you want to experience exciting, out-of-the-ordinary weather. Not only have many places been unusually cold for this time of year, but quite a few rainfall records have also been broken.
To re-cap some of the interesting rain this month: Perth's rain for April has reached 138mm, over four times their average and the wettest April in 82 years. The city is now only 11mm off breaking its all time April record of 149mm set in 1926.
A special mention will be given today to the small town of Hyden, home of the famous "Wave Rock". Hyden received 18mm overnight. This is not only its wettest April day in 2 years, but also its wettest day altogether for the past two years.
With slightly under two weeks left in the month it remains to be seen just how many more WA records can be broken.
