Thick fog blankets eastern NSW

Thick fog blankets eastern NSW
Parts of eastern New South Wales were shrouded in thick fog on Sunday morning. Fog was reported from Ballina and Lismore in the Northern Rivers down to Moss Vale in the Southern Tablelands. A high pressure ridge over the state allowed for light winds and clear skies. These conditions combined with ample moisture at the surface provided the perfect ingredients for fog to develop. The fog developed in the small hours of Sunday morning and lasted to after sunrise in some areas. In Sydney the fog was thick in the western suburbs with visibility dropping to 100m at times in Camden and Richmond. Along the coast there was enough of a breeze to prevent fog from forming. Outside of Sydney visibility dropped to 100m at both Armidale and Williamtown while it was still down to 250m at Moss Vale at 7:30am. The fog has now cleared from most areas revealing mostly sunny skies.
