Temperatures soar in the west
Perth is enduring a sweaty end to the week, although a cool change is on the way.
The city has already exceeded 35 degrees this afternoon and is forecast to hit a high of 37, both today and tomorrow.
If Perth manages back-to-back 37s it will be the city's hottest pair of days since March.
A trough lingering near Australia's west coast is drawing heat from the Interior into the South West Land Division. The pattern will persist on Saturday, before the trough starts to move east on Sunday.
Cooler southwesterly winds will sweep into Perth on Sunday afternoon dropping the mercury and ending the early summer hot spell. The city is forecast to drop to the mid twenties early next week, which is cooler than average for this time of the year.
The heat currently gripping parts of Western Australia is also elevating the fire danger in some areas. Be sure to keep up to date with the latest emergency warning information through the Emergency WA website at: https://www.emergency.wa.gov.au/
