Missing: Sydney's Harbour Bridge and Opera House - ABC licensed

The Sydney Harbour Bridge all but disappeared from sight this morning as a thick blanket of fog swallowed the Harbour City causing flight and ferry disruptions.

The "coat hanger" was missing from the skyline as dawn broke, the Opera House barely there and western Sydney was also shrouded in mist.

At the airport, 20 domestic flights were cancelled or delayed but international flights were not affected.

A flow on effect was expected and passengers are advised to check with their airlines.

The Paramatta River and Circular Quay to Manly services were also cancelled earlier but have now resumed.
