A severe weather warning has been cancelled for south-east Queensland.

The region has been lashed by wild weather for almost a week, damaging over 4,000 homes.

The Bureau of Meteorology says the trough system has moved out to sea and winds are no longer expected to be damaging.

Senior forecaster Craig Mitchell says wind gusts of between 50 and 70 kilometres an hour are still predicted to occur tonight and tomorrow.

"We are still looking at relatively windy conditions across the Brisbane area and south-east area as well, but not the anticipated wind gusts that we forecast getting up to 90kph," he said.

"There is going to be no weather associated with that in terms of showers, just a little bit of breeze I suppose a mild night tonight and continuing fine."

Since the start of the week, natural disaster relief and recovery arrangements have been activated in 13 local government areas in central and southern Queensland.

Fifty-one properties, mostly in Brisbane and Blackwater, have been identified as unliveable, and 4,200 homes and businesses have been damaged since Sunday.

The SES has received more than 22,000 calls.

Emergency Management Queensland says nearly 3,000 jobs have been completed across the state.

More than 3,000 properties were earlier without power, mostly on the Gold Coast and at Ipswich, west of Brisbane.

The State Government has set up two temporary shelters for residents in Brisbane in case of further damage.

Shelters have been set up at the Hill District PCYC in Everton Hills and also at the Baptist Church in Ashgrove.

Central Highlands Regional Council CEO Bryan Ottone says it is very windy but nothing serious.

"It has been gusty, but it's one of those typical overcast. some showers gusty day ... and the current forecast for tomorrow and Monday is to be fine," he said.

Three people have been injured by falling trees in the south-east and Emergency Services are concerned that the strong winds may bring down more trees.

Shortly after 2:00pm a tree fell onto a moving car on Rosemary Street at Inala in Brisbane's south-west. Police say it appears it was uprooted by a strong wind gust.

A 73-year-old woman and a 41-year-old woman received serious head injuries. They were freed from the car and taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Earlier today a woman in her 40s received serious neck and head injuries when a palm tree fell on her at Algester. She was also taken to the PA Hospital.
