Storms spread across WA ahead of a front

Storms spread across WA ahead of a front
Powerful storms moved through the Goldfields of WA yesterday with winds up to 113km/h ahead of a strong cold front pushing into the southwest. A lingering trough across the Gascoyne and Wheatbelt regions yesterday was reinvigorated by stronger winds ahead of the cold front. The trough developed a line of storms that hit the Goldfields district the hardest, with very strong storms and high winds. The highest winds were reported at Laverton with 113km/h as the storms moved through late afternoon. The strong cold front will press north across the southwest of WA today with cool strong southwesterly winds and showers. Temperatures across most of the Southwest Land Division will be below average and remain so for the next few days. Storms will again kick off across southern WA today but the most severe storms will be across the Eucla into western SA.
