Storms and pollen fly into Sydney
Sydneysiders are sneezing with umbrellas in hand as thunderstorms move through above the gusty winds.
Spring has sprung in Sydney, with most of the classic spring features all coming together. After a warm night showers and even a few thunderstorms have spread across Sydney this morning due to an approaching low pressure trough. The showers and storms cleared off during the late morning, although they are likely to redevelop in the afternoon as the trough moves through.
As skies clear the temperature will rise and humidity drop, worsening conditions for pollen sufferers.
This kind of weather is quite typical for New South Wales in spring. As spring progresses the weather just ahead of fronts and troughs has the potential to become more severe. People can expect higher pollen counts, higher temperatures, increased fire danger and the potential for severe thunderstorms.
From tomorrow New South Wales will be cooler, with temperatures peaking nearer to 20 degrees each day in Sydney. The next day a front or trough will cross Sydney is likely to be next Wednesday when temperatures may push into the high twenties and pollen count soars with the gusty northwesterly winds.
