Spring-like warmth pushes over NSW

Spring-like warmth pushes over NSW
The change of seasons is well on the way, after many parts of New South Wales saw their warmest day since mid-autumn today. An unseasonably warm airmass has been dragged across the state ahead of a trough, with the vast majority of the state recording their warmest day since April or May. Condobolin reached 27 degrees, the warmest winter day since 2011, while Tibooburra and Bourke both cracked the 30 degrees mark. In Sydney, suburbs generally reached 28-29 degrees, the warmest winter day since 2012. With the warmth falling on the weekend, many residents on the coast flocked to the beach to soak up the sun. However, ocean temperatures remain chilly, so only the brave would have ventured into the water. Incidentally, the trough that is causing the warmth will lead to a wet spell over the next week after a prolonged period of dry. Many parts of the state should see 50-100mm, their best rain in a few months.
