Spring is on its way for southern WA
Southern parts of Western Australia are due for some warm weather after a cool start to the season.
It's that time of year again and heat has been building across the north of the country. In WA's Kimberley a few places like Kalumburu have had a couple of days reaching 38 degrees for the first time since March.
This warm airmass will gradually migrate further south during the next few days giving Perth and southern WA a taste of the season to come. Wednesday is likely to see the peak of the heating with Perth currently forecast to reach 28 degrees with some eastern parts of the city reaching up to 30 degrees. This will be the warmest day since early April.
The warm temperatures will be particularly welcome as days so far this month at Perth have been around 2 degrees colder than average. Nights have also been fairly chilly with minimum temperatures nearly two and half degrees below average, including the coldest September morning in five years.
Even the south coast will feel the warmth this week, with Albany likely to reach 26 or 27 degrees on Wednesday. Kalgoorlie should see two 30 degree days on Wednesday and Thursday, the first time since March.
