The weather bureau is predicting gale force winds and heavy rain will ease across south-west Victoria today.
The winds have brought trees down across the region, but the State Emergency Service says there have been no major incidents.
Overnight, Mortlake, Port Fairy, Warrnambool and Portland recorded between 17 and 19 millimetres of rain, with about 7mm in Ballarat and Hamilton.
The bureau's senior forecaster, Scott Williams, says a cold front will return to the region tomorrow morning.
"The gales will ease just a little bit, with that front having pushed through," he said.
"We'll get rid of it for about 18 to 24 hours and then have another bit of a blast tomorrow morning, that's the bad news."
