Small interruption to dry spell in WA

Brett Dutschke
Tuesday will bring an intermission to the long dry spell in the southern of Western Australia, but the rain will only be light and patchy. Apart from near the western south coast, less than two millimetres can be expected during Tuesday and Wednesday as a front crosses the south of the state for the first time in more than two weeks. For some the only difference this change will do is bring some cloud and wind to warm the nights up a little, at least for one or two nights. Residents in places such as York, Northam and Corrigin, Katanning, Cunderdin and Bunbury may be glad. All of these locations got within of about a degree of August records this morning. In fact Northam broke its record which had been standing for at least 95 years by recording a minimum of minus 1.5 degrees. The extended dry period over a large area of WA will recommence after Wednesday and may last another week.
