Shire still feeling flood impacts

Friday July 13, 2012 - 09:19 EST

A northern Victorian mayor says his shire's residents are still grappling with psychological issues after last year's severe floods.

The Buloke Shire says most of the community infrastructure that was damaged by repeated flooding in 2010 and 2011 has now been repaired.

The council is now putting tenders out to fix flood damaged roads.

Mayor David Pollard says flood recovery is proving to be a long process.

"In Charlton, all the business were flooded," he said.

"They're finding it extremely tough because of a financial loss and getting that going again but even the businesses ... over in Donald and Culgoa are still finding it fairly tough as well."
