The final week of the Big Bash bandwagon is moving from Australia's west to east, coinciding with the movement of the hottest temperatures. On Saturday, the Perth Scorchers played at home after a typically hot 37 degree day. At the start of play the mercury still read 32 degrees. Today, the Big Bash takes a day off as Australia play Pakistan in cool Melbourne weather. Meanwhile a low pressure trough is starting to draw the heat into the south of the country. Adelaide should reach 36 degrees on Monday before the Strikers play the Renegades in a do-or-die match for both teams. On Tuesday, Melbourne will see it's hottest day of the week, also peaking in the mid 30's before play starts between the Stars and the Brisbane Heat, who may feel a little at home. By Wednesday, the trough should draw the worst of the heat to NSW, where Sydney Olympic Park should reach the mid-to-high 30's. The Sydney Thunder will then play the Adelaide Strikers, with a chance of thunder striking Sydney, but more likely in the afternoon than during the evening game. On Friday, Brisbane will still be in the grips of a heatwave with days in the mid 30's and nights in the mid 20's, making for uncomfortable playing conditions at night and plenty of swing for the bowlers. On the weekend the only matches will be in Melbourne and Hobart, which will both be much cooler, with the nation's heat still focusing further north. However at least in Melbourne, they will be able to see the stars.
