Relief is on the way for New South Wales, but residents will have to bare another scorching day as extreme heat funnels over the state ahead of a change. Dry, northwest winds will strengthen ahead of a trough that will slowly edge north over the state on Sunday. With bushfires already burning over some areas, this raises concerns as the increasing winds will only work to spread the fires. Westerly winds will also hold off coastal seabreezes with many areas expected to reach near or above 40 degrees. Sydney could reach into the lower 40's, which would make it the hottest November day in 27 years. The long awaited change will slowly push through New South Wales and is expected to reach Sydney Sunday night. Along with the gusty southerly change the trough will generate showers and storms as it sweeps through the state. Monday will be a much more comfortable day with temperatures expected to remain in the low twenties for Sydney. The remainder of the state will also see temperatures in the twenties with the exception of the northeast, which will still see the heat for another day.
