Perth's dry spell to evaporate?

Sam Terry
The end of Perth's dry spell is nigh, or at least could be as a weak change is expected to push up the coast tomorrow evening, delivering light showers. So far the river-side city has had 77 days without any official rain, despite reports of the odd splash here and there for other suburbs. This is very close to the unofficial record of 83 days without rain. Thankfully for most, Perth's chance to break this record may evaporate tomorrow night as a trough passes through the region, drawing in moisture from the Indian Ocean. Any showers are most likely from late afternoon on Saturday and may linger into Sunday morning. However, the sad news is that these showers should drop generally less than 5 millimetres, if not less.
