Perth set for a hot Christmas

11/12/2008: Perth can expect a hot Christmas Day according to weatherzone.com.au with mostly sunny skies and a high of 32 degrees.

"The forecast will be updated daily on our website but at this stage we are expecting a hot, mostly sunny day in Perth with a likely temperature range of 18 to 32 degrees, three above average," weatherzone.com.au meteorologist Thomas Saunders said.

"A repeat of the 2007 Christmas heat wave appears unlikely. Last year temperatures in Perth reached 41 degrees on the 25th and a scorching 44 on the 26th," said Saunders.

Perth's hottest Christmas Day on record was in 1968 when the mercury hit 42 degrees. The coldest was 20 degrees in 1945.
