Olwyn downgraded but still dangerous

Olwyn downgraded but still dangerous
Although Ex-Tropical Cyclone Olwyn has been downgraded to a tropical low, there is a severe weather warning for forecast districts in the path of this system. Yesterday Carnarvon, Denham and Kalbarri all picked up their largest March rainfall totals since 2000, with Denham reaching 91mm. Today this type of flooding rainfall should ease slightly. However, totals of around 25mm are still expected from the small coastal town of Kalbarri to Dongara. Winds with these heavy falls are easing as well. Yesterday Exmouth experienced destructive winds with gusts of 180 km/h which destroyed power lines and some structures. Currently, the strongest winds are being experienced at Dalwallinu and Southern Cross gusting at 80km/h. These winds likely to travel further south with some heavy rain towards Wongan Hills. Perth will see some wild weather today. By tomorrow the heaviest falls should ease for the state's capital. Showers will linger around until later until around Friday, but remain light.
