NSW School holiday forecast

NSW School holiday forecast
School students across New South Wales are no doubt carefully planning their activities this fortnight to maximise their school holiday fun. Make the most of this weekend and the blue skies that are dominating, because much of NSW will be blanketed by cloud and showers by Tuesday. A broad trough looks to edge over western parts of the state on Monday, triggering areas of light showers, particularly over the Upper Western and Lower Western districts. Tuesday is a day for movies and popcorn with widespread rainfall spanning much of the state. The heaviest pockets of rain look to be confined over the South Coast, Mid North Coast, Northern Rivers, Slopes and Ranges and Riverina, where 30-40mm could fall. Not only will the rain spoil the fun for outdoor plans, but the wind and cold temperatures are likely to make it fairly unpleasant. This system is likely to shift east and offshore on Wednesday, but not without a parting gift of heavy rain and strong winds along the South Coast and Illawarra where over 50mm could accumulate. Residents away from the coast will be able to get outside once again by Thursday, although the temperature will still be fairly brisk with plenty of cold air lingering over the interior. By Friday and into the weekend, conditions will likely have stabilised and dried out. This will be the halfway point of the holidays, so make sure that your bucket list has plenty more options left. Stay tuned for the second forecast this time next week.
