November wetter, warmer than average

Tuesday December 2, 2008 - 08:10 EDT

Canberra recorded the best spring rain in three years with 160 millimetres falling in the national capital over the last three months.

Bureau of Meteorology figures show 85 millimetres of that fell during November at Canberra Airport.

That is more than the November average of 65 millimetres but not as wet as the same time last year.

Last month was also hotter than normal.

The highest maximum for November was almost 33 degrees while nights were around 2 degrees warmer than average.

But a touch of winter also crept in with a high of just 13 degrees recorded on November 22.
