Natimuk to get flood prevention say

Wednesday July 11, 2012 - 08:45 EST

The Wimmera Catchment Management Authority (CMA) says it will seek feedback from Natimuk residents on ways to mitigate future floods.

The CMA will present its draft flood maps for the town at a public meeting tonight.

The authority's Paul Fennell says the meeting will give residents a chance to inspect the results of several months of flood investigations.

"In terms of what they'll see is the first draft maps of what could potentially occur during criteria flood events in the township," he said.

"So ranging from the one in a hundred, the one in two hundred, down to the one in five type of event, so an array of different floods events so people can see what happens in the township."
