More wet weather to come in southeast Australia

Josh Fisher, Monday June 30, 2008 - 18:12 EST

Strong westerly winds behind a cold front will maintain showers again tomorrow across southeastern Australia, according to weatherzone.com.au

These showers will be heavy at times for the south and ranges of Victoria and western Tasmania. Precipitation amounts will range from 20 to 30mm for southern coastlines, with amounts as high as 40mm over elevated areas.

This precipitation is welcomed by Victoria, where much of the state was below average for the June rainfall. Parts of southeastern VIC only received 20 to 40% of the mean monthly rainfall.

While the heaviest precipitation amount will stay out of the far southeastern VIC, any amount will be helpful.
